September has officially started which means the most fashionable week of the year is right around the corner! That’s right ladies, New York Fashion Week is here and we could not be more excited to hit the streets of New York to see how our favorite bloggers are rocking the hottest trends of the season. Whether you’re a runway vet or attending your first show, we decided to put together the ultimate guide to prepare for the upcoming runway season! So grab your camera and get your best outfit ready because #NYFW is here!
1. Find Shoes That Can Take You Everywhere
Fashion Week is not what it use to be. If you’re lucky enough to attend several shows this season this is your warning: you’re going to have to travel all over the city. Unfortunately NYFW goers don’t have the luxury of attending all their shows in one place. So you’re going to need to be prepared to visit a few different destinations. Get your Lyft account ready and be prepared to do some strutting! Because fashion week is not for your 6 inch Louboutins.
2. Network, Network, Network!
New York Fashion week is the perfect opportunity to make the right connections that can help take you or your brand to the next level. Whether you’re at a show, a pop up shop or even a party, there’s always an opportunity to meet someone new! If you go to a show, introduce yourself to PR agents. If you’re at a showroom, try to talk to the designer. There are so many opportunities you can find at any corner of fashion week.
3. Stay Organized
So you have a few show invites and plan to attend a few evening soirees. Don’t fall victim to “I forgot I had a show and ended up missing it!” Before fashion week even starts, be sure to add every and any event to all your calendars. Include the day, time and location of each show to help streamline things! Bonus points if you map out all the places you need to be on each day.
4. Take Time to Enjoy
The most important rule of all is enjoy yourself. Fashion week can be a lot of fun but also a lot of work. Don’t try to overexert yourself by attending every single show or party you get invited to. Try to live in the moment and make some new friends while you’re at it. After all, not everyone gets the privilege to spend a week experiencing all the beauty that New York Fashion Week has to bring!
